Team Code of Ethics

A code of ethics is a code of behavior or conduct, justified according to a reasoned value system. The ASME provides us with a professional code of ethics.
Each team has also developed a code of ethics that defines guiding values for how they will work with each other in 2.009. Links are provided below.
Red team code of ethics
1. Engineers shall be professional, responsible, accountable,
and punctual.
2. Engineers shall be respectful of your peers. No personal negative comments or attacks.
3. Engineers shall be efficient and take the initiative to continue work and help others when the need arises.
4. Engineers shall be open-minded to new ideas. Don't be biased. Stay impartial and objective.
5. Engineers shall be ethical by not stealing or hiding problems you know to exist.
6. Engineers shall perform tasks in the areas of your own confidence and expertise.
7. Engineers shall be aware of and consider environmental impact.
8. Engineers shall keep the safety, health, and welfare of your peers and the public in mind.
Green team code
of ethics
1. Be honest about ability to commit to tasks
2. Be understanding of other people's schedules
3. Respect other teammates' opinions and be willing to communicate personal issues with teammates
4. Make sure all materials are obtained fairly and legally
5. Adhere to deadlines or be responsible for task completion
6. List all assumptions when submitting analysis
7. Complete thorough design analysis
8. Clean up work space and tools when finished in lab
Blue team code of
ethics
1. Be upfront about all issues or problems as soon as they
arise

Orange team code
of ethics
1. Safety shall always be the first priority
2. Team funds shall only be used for team purchases and only after consulting with the rest of the team, specifically the financial officers and system integrators.
3. People shall be on time and in attendance to meetings.

they are going to miss a meeting or be more than 10 minutes late
4. Everyone shall be courteous in all meetings.
5. All ideas shall be respected.
6. Everyone shall do their fair share of the work by the time they’re
expected to do it

7. Team members shall always present proper documentation

1. Team members shall accomplish all tasks assigned to them
to the best of their capabilities.
2. Team members shall communicate their ideas in an effective and professional manner.
3. Team members shall offer only constructive criticism.
4. Team members shall keep in mind the customer and the class theme of independence while designing the product.
5. Team members shall discuss all major decisions as a team and make a democratic group decision.
6. Team members shall have equal opportunities to take on responsibilities.
7. Team members shall continually learn and adapt the product accordingly throughout the design process.
8. Team members shall perform all tasks with integrity and honesty.
Silver team code
of ethics
1. Be honest to yourself and to others while planning, working, and presenting
your work.
2. Contribute fairly and sensibly to the efforts of the team.
3. Help other team members develop and be respectful of their work.
4. Consider the problem from all angles, especially in the area of safety
in manufacturing and in use.
